I cannot see a burial for William Thompson sen. I agree that the Rothbury burial is unlikely.

George and Lydia Thompson had children after civil registration began -groindex confirms mmn as Lumley.

Their eldest son was called William and their eldest daughter Lydia Lornhamma(sp?)

Added to the common occupation of glover on the balance of probabiities I have to say, Jen, I am with Lisa!

William
Dent (Haltwhistle and Sacriston), Bell and Jetson (Haltwhistle), Postle, Ward, Longstaff, Purvis, Manners, Parnaby and Hardy (Co. Durham), Kennedy and McRobert (Banffshire), Reid(Bathgate), Watson (Wemyss), Graham (Libberton), Sandilands (Carmichael), Munro (Dingwall)

Point taken! Lydia's middle name is a good clue. It's clearly Loruhamah on the parish register.

At the time of her baptism George & Lydia were living at Old Flesh Market

You’ve been given some more information in the last few days.

It would be nice to hear if you’ve found it of any use?
