37 markers
« on: Tuesday 06 November 18 05:45 GMT (UK) »
Dear readers,

I am a new member, so greetings to everyone.

I'll start with a question: my Y-STR haplogroup results show the following:
12 markers: 12 exact matches, 120 matches in genetic distance 1, etc. ;
25 markers: genetic distance 2 - 5  matches, etc.;
37 markers: genetic distance 3 - 2 matches; genetic distance 4 - 4 matches.

Can anyone advise if it is worthwhile for me to buy 67 marker test?

Cheers,

Theophile

A lot of it is throwing darts. Its not going to find anything hidden.

If you can, save for the Big Y or the 111.

I have the 67 marker test and have 1 match at 5 distance. None at 37 and 88 at 25 of various distances.

I may get a 111 test later but for now I have to say I am disappointed. But I also recognise its for the long term.

it comes down to others testing from within your genetic marker group. ie not your family but other testers
