Gives all the info including witnesses. Their fathers being Charles Preece and John Robson.

What a great idea to add postems.  I agree Boo, this is bound to help someone.   This would be especially helpful in the case of postems for non conformist records.  Also, thanks for the tip of using Genuki as a good source of info, Boo.

I have Janes Father as Thomas Robson 1817–Birth ABT 1817 • Bishop Wearmouth, Durham, England and Death Unknown and mother only as Jane, will see what I can find :-)

Hi Sarah Jane

Charles William Preece and Jane Robson are my daughters 4xGtGrandparents.

I looked at all possible parents for Jane, and I have chosen John Robson and Jane Hall, Jane's father John died in 1851 so would not have been present at her wedding, at which (ref Postem on Freebmd) one witness was a Mary Jane Robson, Jane's older sister (John and Jane Hall's first child).  Jane, wife of Charles didn't use Ann as a middle name, she was just a plain Jane (on all records I can find).

There are two Jane's born Octq 1838: Jane Robson 24 240 and Jane Ann Robson 24 248 (very close)

Thomas and Jane Robson had a daughter Jane Ann (or A) (on 41 & 51) census. A Jane Ann Robson married Hobson/Edmundson in Marq 1858, so rules out this Jane and therefore Thomas as father.

There are a number of trees on Ancestry for both families, but none that show any evidence regarding birth parents of Jane wife of Preece.  There appears to be no parish records on-line and unfortunately I am too poor to purchase BMD certs for both Jane's to be sure of parentage/rule out

If you do have any documents which may help confirm parentage I be grateful for copies/transcripts.

Ps Audrey Bagley's tree shows that Preece's wife Jane Robson is daughter of John Robson (and Jane Hall), John is son of Benjamin Robson, Ben also had a son Thomas, who had a daughter Jane Ann b1838, I will have a further look at Thomas

So, I found: Thomas (son of Benjamin, brother of John) married Jane Mushen (various spellings)

1861 census:
Jane Mushen wid age 68 below is
Jane Robson wid age 45 (daur of Jane Mushen age 68, wife of Thomas)
Between them is Jane A Hobson mar age 22, with two children Robert 3y and Jane Ann 11m

Explains it all, Jane who married Preece is the cousin of Jane Ann who mar Hobson :/
