In 1851 William is a Crown Glassmaker so thats probably what the C is in the 1852 occupation.

Wolfie now that you have written this I have checked again .. I can now see that you are correct and the entry does indeed record 'Crown' before Glafs or Glass. :)

And yes, quite a number of the Cunningham men worked in the glass industry.
