Yes, thanks - it appears that Charles Doyle didn't marry again, but lived with family in Glace Bay for the next half-century. Dbree found the family living at the same address for decades. Charles was the informant on his mother's death registration.

We may never know the whole story (one credible RC site stated that one marriage in seven in North America would wind up being annulled by the RC Church) but I'd opt for the annulment possibility. It seems that one of the five grounds for annulment would be present: ceremony performed by someone not accredited by the RC Church. it is suggested that a second ceremony, this one at the Catholic Church might have solved the problem (if problem there was).

I don't know what the facts of the matter are but that Doyle/Moffatt marriage document was beyond sketchy.

Hi Brian,

It's possible Margaret had an obituary. There is a volunteer who will do look-ups at the Miami
Dade Library. Might be worth an email.
