Children's Homes in Leicester

My mother and her sister spent some time in a Children's Home in Leicester during the late 1920s/early 1930s. Are there any records of homes/inmates from that time that may allow me to find anything out about their time in the home?

Hi George

Not sure whether it would come late enough for the dates you are looking for. I was supplied with several spreadsheets by the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Record Office. The titles included:

Leicester Receiving Home Admissions 1906 - 1921, born before 1911

The others were about Workhouse and Cottage Home Admissions between 1875 and 1905.

Might be worth asking them.

I have looked at www.childrenshomes.org.uk and it doesn't look as if it can help.

I will try the ROLLR to see if they have anything after 1921 as my dates will likely be post 1924.
