Alice Maude Cheffings was born c.1873 in Stoke on Trent.   GRO index shows her mother's maiden name as Powell.   She married John Henry Ryder in 1892 in Hunslet, Yorks.

I'm trying to trace Alice's parents and would be grateful for her 1881 and 1891 census record.

1881 census has an Alice M Cheffings (b 1874 Shelton, Staffs) with parents George (a clerk) and Sarah. Siblings:  Harry, George, Walter and Elavine (?).  Living at Knowler Hill, Liversedge, Dewsbury, Yorkshire.
Howard , Viney , Kingsman, Pain/e, Rainer/ Rayner, Barham, George, Wakeling (Catherine), Vicary (Frederick)   all LDN area/suburbs  Ottley/ MDX,
Henman/ KNT   Gandy/LDN before 1830  Burgess/LDN
Barham/SFK   Rainer/CAN (Toronto) Gillians/CAN  Sturgeon/CAN (Vancouver)
Bailey/LDN Page/KNT   Paling/WA (var)

The marriage in 1892 shows Alice age 18 (1874) father George deceased.

George was baptised 28 Dec 1845 St Mary Tetford, Lincs parents Richard a labourer & Mary Ann.

Colin, you mention George and Sarah Cheffing and their respective fathers in the 1891 and 1901 census records.   Could you please give me the full details of these two census records?

The fathers were noted on the marriage record, not the censuses. This is George in 1851. I will see if I can find Sarah.
