This is a real mess this lot:

There is no marriage that I can find to Charles Trickett to Eliza and yet they are in Census returns with an ever increasing family

SO I looked for any other Tricketts... and found a DAVID of the same area age and TRADE married to an Ann

again NO Marriage found.

Have I got my first Bigamist bigamist??? or just a total mess up

I saw that last night, looks like Eliza is remembered a year after her death in the paper by her children.

Lots of Eliza Ann's getting married but nothing stood out when looking at the date of birth of her first child.

Thanks for that Willsy

its the variations that are making it impossible to find her..

But will stick at it for a bit longer.

Well   ---- long straw in the 1881
A possible for her with her younger (much younger) half sister?? may not be them at all.
The reason I am considering it is her occupation to do with 'shoes'  but it does say Leicester NOT Leicestershire... so thats no...
The ages for the two are correct... and in the 1881 John Clark and new wife Elizabeth do have 2 children with them but NOT Mary ann - or Eliza  John dies and Elizabeth marries again before 1891 to Edward Fleet and Mary Ann is with them again with the name of FLEET on transcription. Although actually down as Mary Ann Clarke born Hinckley ... so that is her..

Were they ill then in 1881 ?? cos I have a few missing from Hinckley around that time..

off now.. to start the afternoon... maybe
