Actually a quick query about the 1939 register from a seasoned searcher. As K Garrad says in his response, the 1939 register was continually updated as used by the NHS which I know and have seen. But in this kind of instance where these twins probably wouldn't be on it as born just slightly too late am I right in thinking that they would never appear on it. I think if that is the case then we slightly mislead searchers when saying that it is continually updated as some people just won't ever appear on it.Where would they appear? The NHS must have kept track of those born after 1939 somehow?Pheno
Here we go again! The 1939 National Register was NOT a census!A census is a snapshot of one night. The 1939 National Register was continually updated (by the NHS) until the 1990's.
