 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Here they are (hiding under Allwood in 1901 census site and Callwood in Ancestry)

3 Clara Villa, Cavendish st(?),Worcester

Charles Attwood,head,m,37,corporation waggoner,Connerton,Worcs
Harriet,wife,37,Naunton,Worcs
Alice,dau,16,button maker,Tewkesbury,Worcs
Ellen,dau,12,Connerton,Worcs
Alfred E,son,9,Overbury,Worcs
Elizabeth,dau7,Connerton,Worcs
Annie,dau,5,Worcester
Beatrice M,dau,3,Worcester
Louisa,dau,1,Worcester

RG13/2779 Folio 38

I got there by a tortuous route. I started with the birth entries which you most likely have from the IGI at www.familysearch.org
Then I tried the 1891 census and found the following:

1891 census
Overbury
Sch no. 96;Milkhouse farm
William Bubb,head,m,70,agricultural lab,Worcs,Ripple
Sarah Bubb,wife,m,67,Gloucs,Tewkesbury
John H Bubb,gr son,10,scholar,Worcs,Twyning

Sch no.97;Milkhouse farm
Charles Attwood,head,m,27,agricultural lab,Worcs,Conderton
Harriett Attwood,wife,m,28,Worcs,Ripple
Alice Bubb,step dau,7,scholar,Gloucs,Tewkesbury
Ellen Attwood,dau,2,Worcs,Conderton
Florence L Attwood,dau,1,Worcs,Overbury

RG12/2050 Folio 125

That all fitted so perfectly with the IGI entries for parents Charles and Harriett that I thought surely the rest must be right. No joy for any of them in 1901 but I did find the 1881 entry for Harriett

1881 census
Twining
Sch no. 27;  Brockeredge Common
William Bubb(-tt?),head,m,67,farm labourer,Worcs,Ripple
Sarah Butt,wife,m,48,Gloucs,Tewkesbury
Harriet Bubb,dau,unm,17,servant,Worcs,Ripple
Sarah Ann Bubb,dau,11,scholar,Worcs,Ripple
Eliza Bubb,dau,8,scholar,Gloucs,Twyning
(Surname spelling confusing, seems to be with a t and a b!)

RG11/2578  Folio 157

There is a Charles Attwood in the 1881 census, boarding in tewkesbury along with what are probably younger brothers Owen 14 and Hubert 12, all born Overbury,Worcs

Back to the 1901 census, and this time I tried looking for Beatrice born Worcester 1897....and up she popped as Callwood!

If you PM me your email address I'll send the images :)

I wonder if this is Harriett?

WOO HOO!!!    I am so thrilled with the information that Gardener has provided (special thank you sent to Gardener by PM).

Jan, you are right when you say I would be "over the moon".  That doesn't describe it.

I am going to do a special post for the the good folks out there who care enough to help in our searches for ancestors.

Thank you !!

Brenda

Great work Gardener! I've found scribbled on a piece of paper in front of me a marriage ref. for Charles Attwood/Harriet Bubb, Tewkesbury Mar q. 1888 6a/557 - which seems to tie in.

Brenda, I was interested in your search because my gggrandfather Levi Woodworth Eaton came from Nova Scotia. Good luck with the rest of your search.

Hi Ros,

I have noted the marriage of Charles/Harriet - thank you.  (I'm still quite hyper with all the ancestry info I have received tonight).

Where does your gggrandfather comes from in Nova Scotia.  With your expertise, I would expect that you have all the info!   ;)

Cheers

Brenda

Hi Brenda,

He was born in Pugwah, Cumberland County, though the family before him were in Cornwallis, Kings County.

Afraid I can't claim any credit here - there is a book that traces the whole family  back through the United States to the early 1600s. Fascinating information - but not nearly as much fun as when you find it all out for yourself!

Cheers,

Ros

Hey Ros,

The research is certainly fun and exciting, but having a book to read is amazing.  Is your gggfather "THE" Mr. Eaton of the store that I shopped at many many times?

Cheerios

He was a shipbuilder who sailed his own ship, with his family, all the way to NZ (which never ceases to amaze me) when there was a downturn in the shipbuilding industry in NS. It's quite a large family with lots of them still in NS - so he could well be a relation of your Mr E!

Cheers,

Ros
