Wow! That's just answered the question of where did the name of Mangapapa Farm originate from. Having discovered very early on in my research that Mangapapa is an area of Gisborne located on North Island, New Zealand, I can now say the Tweed family gave it the name. I know Carterton was created as a means of allowing individuals and families to farm on a small scale (smallholding), in the late 19thC and early 20thC. Thanks very much.  :)

Thank you. That newspaper article certainly confirms the Tweed family were in Mangapapa, NZ, so it clearly influenced their naming choice for the smallholding they had on their return to the UK.  Hopefully able to post an image of a map of Carterton with Mangapapa Farm shown on it below.
