Wow, I am stunned. Thank you for that info on Francis and Millicent.
My ancestor's details:
Birth details provided by Eduard Bürer who is descendent from Frederick’s wife,
Maria Catherina Bürer.
Frederick’s Birth:
05 May 1770
Carlsruhe, (Holland) Germany
Death:
30 Dec 1837
11 Bentinck St, Manchester Square
Burial:
04 Jan 1838
All Souls Cemetery

Marriage:
10 April 1801

Maria Catherina Bürer
Birth:
14 Apr 1776
The Hague, Holland
Died:
22 Mar 1852
Camden Town, Middlesex, England
Buried:
27 Mar 1852
All Souls Kensall Green

I don't know Frederick's parents - again I am assuming he travelled to the UK as did Maria where they met and got married.

I was told by a 2nd cousin (who died at age 94) that the ESSE family came over to the UK in 1066 but am finding that hard to believe if Frederick was born in Holland. Unfortunately, I don't know how to do research in Europe.

I have quite extensive information from Frederick and Maria down to my newest grandson with only a couple of hitches which I am not too concerned about.

I have copies of the Application to marry by Frederick and Maria - note her name is shown as Catherina Purer, and of some of their sons.

Thanks for reading this and trying to help. It is very much appreciated.

Cheers,
Di

Hi Rosie,
Thank you for your post. Yes that is my man and I have his death certificate. When they handwrote the word Esse, the double 'ss' is sometimes written as 'ff' way back in the very early years. I soon sorted that out in my mind.  There actually is an Else family but they are not related to me.
Cheers,
Di

Hi Nanny Jan,
Thank you also for your post, unfortunately this person is not from my line - sometimes transcribers add an 'x' then when the name is searched, it comes up as "Esse". This happens a lot to me.

Such an easy name to research but when people add other letters, it is frustrating.

Cheers,
Di
