Thanks for your offer,  I have found out with the birth registration, that it is Alexander Brown and wife Catherine in Clewer, Windsor that I'm after.
He would be about 43 in 41.   If this is too inconvenient don't worry about it.   Pauline

hi Pauline,
I had a quick look, but then ran out of time, so you are first on my list next time.

If possible newbie could you check for Alexander Brown and Catherine hOlding marriage about 1835 instead.  That would likely give me more information.   Thanks very much.  Pauline

Hello Pauline
here is your look up for Marriages Windsor c 1835 Alexander Brown and Catherine Holding.

New Windsor, St John the Baptist. Marriages,
found a transcription.  Ref:T/R 18/5
searched 1825 - 1837
only found 1 BROWN.
John Burgiss Brown, Jun 12 1830, bachelor of New Windsor,
Sedding, Henrietta spinster of Eton, by License.

Also checked Banns T/R 1754 - 1837 not married in New Windsor.
14 Dec 1828 Brown John of New Windsor
21 Dec          Ball Louisa of Whitcham Berks

Sep 7 1830  James Brown, bachelor of Clewer, Grantham, Charlotte, Spinster of New Windsor,         License

Sep 19 1831 Thomas Crockett Brown of New Windsor
Brazier, Ann of New Windsor,                    Banns

Have had a thought this morning, if he was employed at the castle I wonder if Windsor is the right area to be looking, maybe Clewer? or even the Castle records...

Thank you very much but yes Clewer was the parish where they lived.  It could also be that they got married in Middlesex where Catherine  Holding was born if thats the case all is lost as there are no LdS records available for the time period in Bow.    Many thanks for your time and efforts.   Pauline

hello Pauline,
I think the transcription probably covered Clewer as a part of Windsor, but not exactly sure, unfortunately I won't be going for a while now but will check when I do
