I just cancelled my sub to The Genealogist and got an email within a coup,e of days offering me three months free as I was an old customer!

Thank you Caroline for making me laugh...how did they know your age  ???

That was my joke, I fully understood  ;D

Blimy I hadn't realised it was nearly a year since I cancelled my membership ....they still keep trying to entice me back. I've just taken up their 50 day free gold trial... could be useful over Xmas hols then I'll cancel it b4 they start charging.

My Ancestry and FindMyPast memberships are up for renewal in the next couple of months so will have to try these codes again.

Glad my comment gave you a chuckle Rosinish... we need something to laugh about these days!

The link given at the beginning of this year for Ancestry still works. However you must let the old subscription run out completely before using it.

Do look & wait for offers as I got;
12 Month Pro Subscription on FindMyPast for £80.00 &
12 Month Worldwide Ancestry £89.99...

How can I complain...
Less than £3.50 p/w with billions of records between them, I'm happy for the next year  ;D

Did you find both discounts from threads on RC? I paid £132 for FindMyPast last year so getting it for £80 would be amazing!

My sub for ancestry runs out in January and I wasn't sure whether to cancel it now as I don't want auto renew... but wonder whether it will let me carry on until that date or stopne immediately from accessing my details especially as my DNA was done via them...

You will be able to use it as normal until your subscription runs out. Once it runs out you can still access your tree but wont be able to see any records unless you have downloaded and attached them.

A couple of weeks ago I cancelled my Ancestry subscriotion and took up the half price deal, I subscribed for the new deal using a family member's name and email.

My original subscription has my DNA details, does anyone know if it is possible to transfer my DNA to my new subscription, my original sub still has a few days to run.

I'm not sure how you would do this, as surely it isn't recognised as your subscription if it isn't in your name or email? I wonder if you could you make "that person" manager of your dna details?
