Don't know what area you hail from yourself but it would be worth checking church ledgers for a baptism within their area

New Zealand!
I’ll have to send my partner in crime cousin along, or wait until next time I’m over.

Of course the Portsmouth ones are pretty much on FindMyPast anyway.  The other son’s baptism is there.
It’s just a niggly loose end in that branch.

Thank you for looking.  I’ll have a bit more of a look at that birth and maybe splash out if I can’t rule it out.

There's a Frederick Henry Day, born 1899, baptized 1903, Portsea All Saints
Parents Henry + Louisa

From free index, I have no more info at the moment. Don't know if it's relevant!

I cannot find Frederick Henry first qtr 1899, birth date given 27/01/1899

I am still coming back to Frederick Alfred, same year and same qtr

Incumbents can make mistakes on registers

Any idea what happened to him in later life?

The only Frederick Henry I can find was born 1883 Portsea MMN Mitchell,

Yes, a mystery so far
