Cause of death of Wilhelmina D. Taylor (1915 - 1943)
« on: Friday 04 January 19 20:25 GMT (UK) »
On the 30th October 1943 the Sunderland Echo reported that the Coroner had been informed about the death of Wilhelmina Dodds Taylor (aged 28) who died 29th October 1943. The report goes on to say it was believed she suffered an injury at work the previous Thursday, Wilhelmina was employed in a Sunderland shipyard as an electric welder. Being unable to find a Coroner's report as to the cause of death does anyone know if her death was the result of an accident at work.
If this is the case from the nearly 1,000 deaths in Sunderland shipyards I have found so far she would be the first female worker  whose death was as a result of a shipyard accident.

The newspaper gives her husband as George H. Taylor of 1 Belle Vue, Sunderland.

Would be more than grateful for any information provided.

Thanks

There is a public tree on Ancestry that has a photograph of Wilhelmina.  No death certificate though.
