She was still in London June/July, the 1939 register was taken 29th September.  The government had  apparently started to make provisions for this register some months before this

TNA website has this
They were living apart from their families
By 29 September 1939 there had already been mass evacuations of the population so many people may be listed in an entirely different location to the rest of their family. Many seasonal workers, such as hop-pickers, were still in the countryside when the Register was taken, and not at their normal home addresses in urban areas.

Well done, Rosie.
I'm convinced.

That pretty much settles her story then.

One last thing would be to see if we could establish the connection she has to Mr & Mrs Morton before the war and after the war. Jennie is staying with them through the 1930s and again in 1946-47  (Electoral rolls). Perhaps she was a servant to this couple?

The 1939 reg identifies the Mortons as 'off license manager' & assistant which in my naive tea-total south-pacific mind sounds like pub managers. Jennie might have been bar-maid?
