Have you seen the report of the inquest into Williams death?


He was found “insensible” on the train from London to Cambridge, and taken to Cambridge hospital where he died.

Yes, I found that a couple of weeks ago  (Addenbrooke's Hospital) which was good for my blood pressure!!  Couldn't find his death in any register.  What I found interesting as well was that his wife, Sarah in the 1871 census had her occupation listed as "veterinary chemist" so possibly she kept on making the preparations etc. Too bad it wasn't that easy to find death/burial records of some of my other ancestors!!

My ancestor, William Youatt 1776-1847, was a vet. He was one of the founders of the Royal College of Veterinarians and wrote textbooks that I believe are still in use today.

That's the one. One of the earliest examples of paid surrogacy I've seen.
