1861 Census, Poplar area - LITTLE.
« on: Saturday 13 August 05 08:54 BST (UK) »
:D  Hello All.  Greetings from Australia!
I would really appreciate it if someone could look up the 1861 Census for the Poplar area for the following family.  I'm afraid I have only limited info.:-
   HANNAH LITTLE (b.1843? Lutton, Lincolnshire).
When she married WILLIAM BUTCHER on 11 Feb. 1871 in St Anne Limehouse parish church, she stated her father was JOHN LITTLE (occ. Master Mariner).  One of the witnesses was a FRANCES LITTLE (possibly her sister).  Both HANNAH and WILLIAM were residing at White Horse St., at the time of their marriage.
   Any help is much appreciated.

Hi Carol,

The only Hannah Little right age born Lincolnshire is indeed to be found in Middlesex:

RG9/289
Folio 102 p. 50
Limehouse St Anne, Mddx

Butts (?) Little, head, mar, 36 (could actually read 54 as well!), b. Durham Bishopswearmouth
Hannah Little, dau, unm, 17, Lincolnshire Long Sutton
Mary Long, (dau?lodger?), mar, 25, b. Durham Bishopswearmouth
Francis Little, dau, 13, scholar, b. Norfolk W??hen
Elizabeth M Long, dau, 7mo, b. Mddx Limehouse

Sorry this entry is very hard to read and a little confusing...
