Outside possible in 1851:

Piece 2318/Folio 517/ page 44
William Jefferey

Pros:
Occupation Glassmaker, wife called Ann.
Though the transcription age says 44, the image seems to have that crossed out and 34 written in?

Cons : both listed as being born Hartlepool, but we never know who gave the info - if the last place they lived had been Hartlepool and someone asked where they'd come from .. ?

Boo

Oooh, I'm really liking that possibility Boo

As well as his age being altered it looks to me as though his PoB of Hartlepool is crossed through too.  The line above has Newcastle, Northumberland written in & also apparently crossed through, but there is no occupant for that line.

Ann's PoB is a puzzle, but Hilton (N Yorks) is only 15-20 miles from Hartlepool, so it possibly at least narrows down a general area.

Off to hunt for a possible marriage, only I've got people coming over in less than an hour... I wonder how quickly I can feed them & throw them out  ;D

I may have found a possible death for him but I have to log off now.

Newcastle Journal of 18 May 1867 carries a report into the death of William Jeffrey, fifty-two years of age, a glassmaker living in East Court
