Robert Thornton 1841

In 1851 Robert Thornton b 1791 lived at Lane End Pentrobin. He was a Collier. He was living with his son William, 1823, and his daughter Emma, 1833.  In the next house lived another Thornton family who may or may not be related.

Can any one see him and his family in the 1841 census?

I believe Robert was living in Gt Boughton age 48 in 1841. Can anyone see him and his family?

Yes living in Barret Lane Pentrobin Flintshire in 1841,are;
Richard born in c 1792,
William born in c 1825,
Mary born in c 1827,
Thomas born in c 1831,
Jane born in c 1833,
Emma born in c 1834.All except Emma are given as born in Flintshire.

Thanks for the information but should 'Richard' be 'Robert' ?

My apologies Bob,it should indeed have been Robert.As far as the area where they lived,it seems it was in Flintshire one Census year,and Cheshire the next!

Thanks for that. Can you see Robert's daughter, Elizabeth Thornton, age 20, living in or near Chester ( Gt Boughton) in 1841? Her marriage record in 1843 gives her address as Lower Bridge Street.

There are two Elizabeth Thorntons,given as born c 1826,one in Cheshire,and the other in Flintshire,but living with other Thornton Families.

Thanks for looking. In 'findmypast' I found Elizth Thornton age 20 in Gt Boughton Cheshire, and Elisabeth Thornton age 20 in Gt Boughton Flintshire. Are these the two you found?

In fact there were two born in c 1826 in Cheshire,but one was in the Ashton-Under-Lyne area,and the other was in the Stockport area.The one in Flintshire,born in c 1826 was in Pentrobin.Of course we have to remember that these ages,were approximate in 1841,being rounded up or down +-5.
