Stanley Capie
« on: Monday 28 January 19 11:11 GMT (UK) »
I an nearing the end of my long search with the frustration of trying to find information on the ancestors of STANLEY CAPIE birth registered in Camberwell in the 3rd qtr 1919 1d 1181 with the mothers surname given as FIELD.  He married Catherine Kennedy (born circa 1922) in Camberwell in the 1st qtr 1942 1d 1316.  Any information about Stanley or Catherine much appreciated.

Do you have his Birth Certificate?
Parents names will be on there.

Or his Marriage Certificate?
His father's name will be on there.

Can't see a marriage for a Capie to a Field - so looks like mum was married before.
Siblings born 1913, 1914 and 1916!
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

If you have access to Ancestry - there is a tree there - photograph of Stanley - and said to be "our Dad at his brother's wedding in Camberwell".

Stanley said to have been born 26 August 1919 and died 9 July 1968, and Catherine died 12 March 2000.

The tree has minimal information related to either Stanley or Catherine.

Capie births in England/Wales seem to be concentrated on Portsea (Hampshire), Weymouth and Dorchester (Dorset).

Could there be a link to the Channel Islands?

Possible Birth?

There is a Thomas Capie, married, born Netherburn, Hamilton, aged 34 and a Stoker Petty Officer - Royal Navy, somewhere in the Mediterranean - 1911 Census.
