Is this his mother Mary Jane Watson of Cathcart 38 Church Road Warlingham Surrey died 20 Feb 1953 probate to Arthur John Watson, engineer.

Actually that is the correct Arthur. His mother died nearby in 1953. His 1st wife Lucy disappeared sometime before 1939. Last record of her is in 1920. I have the 1939 record - found it last evening on Find-my-past. Widow mentioned in will must be 2nd wife but have not found out much about her. Thanks for you help.

1958 death reg plus Will  only refer to him as Arthur.  There is a 1939 entry in Surrey matching that death and widows name so not your Arthur

He is a newspaper clerk with a different birth date per 1939 register so perhaps the one who married Lucy is another Arthur Watson

Late last night I ruled out both marriages. I believe the 1939 register to be correct and his mother's will to be correct but nothing else can be found. At this point, I think he most likely died abroad. His sister ended up with a large estate, so suspect he left his money to her. Thanks so much for your help.
