Buckinghamshire Family History Society Open Day 2019

Join us for the Society’s Open Day, Buckinghamshire's major family history event. Our Buckinghamshire names database is always a major attraction, containing well over five million surname entries taken from the county's parish registers, wills, census returns and many lesser-known documents. The database is fully searchable – if there's an ancestor you can't find, come along and let us help you track him or her down (there will be a small charge for searches).

Our parish register transcripts and other publications will be on sale, and there will be lots of help and advice available from friendly, experienced family historians, with an introductory talk given for those new to family history.

Local history was again prominent at last year's Open Day, with museums and local history groups exhibiting alongside family history societies from around the country, archives and the customary range of suppliers of maps, books, software, archival materials and other services. We intend to continue this trend in 2019.

Entry is free. In additon to tea, coffee and light snacks, hot food such as burgers and hot dogs will be available from a mobile caterer. Come and make a day of it.

Free parking is available at the venue. If you’re not driving, Chiltern Railways operate services from London Marylebone and elsewhere to Aylesbury, or Thame and Haddenham Parkway (change to Arriva Bus 280 for Aylesbury, two to three journeys each hour). Aylesbury's town buses serve either Walton Gyratory, or The Plough, Tring Road.

We look forward to seeing you between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 27th July 2019, at The Grange School, Wendover Way, Aylesbury HP21 7NH

From about Easter we'll start to update the website to list all the organizations attending. Come back to check out it out regularly.
