He never came back from US.  Ellen his wife received regular money from him as far as I know.

I see he was still alive at age 64

Sorry if I wasn't clear on both Ellen and James.  She was born in Kilkenny and he was born in Galway

Ellen Culinan and Helen Berrigan are the same person.

I gave you the birth of Ellen Cullinan, of Callan who is not the Ellen Bergin born Kilkenny.

See reply #55

How did she become Berrigan?

Ellen Cullinan’s mother was Brenan - could that be the error?

Did she die as Riley/Reilly?

James Reilly/O'Reilly ( - d before wife, Boston MA)
left wife and children in Ireland
inspector for MTA, accidental death involving a trolley
               is he: 1930, Wayfayer's Lodge, age 48
is he: 1940, 637 Dudley Street, age 67
is he: 1940, Tewksbury State Hospital, age 64
That piece of information is correct

I believe he had an accident with a trolley bus - I don't know if he recovered

Have you checked the occupations for these three entries?

Do you have the death certificate for Ellen?

I’m unsure whether you agree with the Dunmore findings for the family.

Elllen Cullinan’s father is Henry on that marriage certificate.
Henry Cullinan died in 1890, Callan.

His widow Ellen Cullinan nee Brennan married Patrick Horan in 1897, Callan.
1901 census with step daughter, Ellen, aged 10 yrs.

What do you think?

It maybe correct but I think I need to look into it more.   What happened to her brother Joseph if this was right? Thank you
