well, I've found a burial for
Hugh Thomas in Glanogwen 4 Aug 1887 aged 67 address Twr, Bethesda.

There are baptisms in the same church for
Ellis bp 13 march 1853 son of Hugh & Mary
William bp 15 Nov 1858 son of Hugh & Mary

Great finds

Possible burial for Hugh Hugh Thomas 6 Aug 1903 aged 54 of 71 Penybryn, Bethesda

Hugh Hugh Thomas of 71 Penybryn Bethseda quarryman died 3 Aug 1903
Probate 17 Sep 1903 to Margaret Anne widow

Hugh H Thomas         52 Bethesda, Caernarvonshire slate quarryman

I've tried tracing back the neighbours on 1871 census, and although I can find some of them in other years, I can't find them in 1861 so perhaps there is at least one missing page in 1861. Try the Roberts family from 1871 RG10/5733 folio 12 pg 16 headed by widowed Mary and with daughter Grace age 30.
