His Admittance to the Royal Navy record is at the National Archives at Kew £3.50.
He also served in WW1 and got medals ,again at the Archives at Kew.
In 1920 it seems he was in Archangel on the transport ships.There is a medal on Ancestry for that with a very touching description of his bravery in the company of Percy Melcross,Patrick Smith and John Charlton.
On the 1911 census in England so he must have left after WW1.

He left again 8.3.1935 on the Avelona Star.He was described as a civil engineer age 36.He was going to St Peter's Vicarage Hale.
An immigration card for his daughter in 1960 to Brazil gives his wife as Beatrice Maud Kidd and a daughter born 1937.
