Heywood reply #32. Where did you find Henrietta's baptism? Ditto her marriage?
Looks like Louisa was added at baptism.

This must be her birth reg. not sure if this has been posted, apologies if I'm duplicating

TAYLOR, HENRIETTA    mmn    STOTT
1875  D Quarter in OLDHAM  Volume 08D  Page 699
It was one of the two I posted reply #2 (5 pages back so not surprising if you missed it).  I thought it was the more likely as it was registered in Royton sub-district on Lancashire BMD. That's one of the features I like about Lancs. BMD.

More possible brothers for Henrietta from Lancashire BMD. Births registered in Royton sub-district.
Joseph 1882 and David 1886.
There were 15 Taylor births with mother's maiden name Stott registered in Oldham district in 1880s.
7 Taylor men married Stott women in Oldham, Rochdale, Manchester and nearby districts in 1870s. Several Taylor women married Stott men. (Lancashire BMD)
Joseph and David can't have been Hetty's brothers since we now know that Hetty's mother died in 1877.

Birth registration Oldham registration district; sub-district Royton; 1849; Ruth Alice Stott; mother's maiden name Shoesmith.
This may be marriage of parents:

Another Stott-Shoesmith wedding at same church that year Mary Stott and Hartley Shoesmith.
Yet another at St. Leonard's, 1849  - Stott, Joshua and Shoesmith, Sarah.

Been out, just got back and read all this. Can't believe how much you've all been able to find out, taking me a while to digest it all. This is better than watching Sherlock! Grandma was right .... we could write a book!
I'll try and catch up with you all:
- Ambrose Taylor and Ruth Stott are Hetty's parents, married 1872
- Ruth dies 1879
- The school tragedy is maybe a red herring unless there is a birth and death between census that    we haven't found. But two infants did die prior to Ruth's death.
- Hetty baptised 1875 + birth reg
- Ruth possibly baptised 1849 + birth reg mmn shoesmith
- Ambrose marries Ann 1879
- Possible records of marriage for Ruth's parents, maybe favourite is Abraham and Mary 1844
.... I think that's the gist of it. Thankyou so very very much to you all, very much appreciated.

There were baptisms at St. Paul, Royton for Samuel, Martha, David, Jane, Joseph and Hartley which fit birth registrations in reply #42. Parents were Abraham & Mary, abode either Thornham or Gravel Hole. Abraham's occupation was collier. Patience Stott, daughter of Abraham & Mary of Gravel Hole was baptised 4thApril 1847 so she was probably the birth registration transcribed as  "Paliena".
There was also a Mary Ann baptised there in 1851, parents Abraham & Sarah, abode Royton, father's occupation miner.
Another Abraham & Mary Stott had children baptised at St. Paul's during same period.  That Abraham was an engineer.
Joshua & Sarah Stott had daughter Alice baptised at St. Paul, Royton in 1849. 27th July was noted as her date of birth. Abode Crown Top, Castleton.
