June 1844 registration - Market Harborough - for Emma Kendall shows a mother's maiden name of Main, but I can't readily find a Kendall/Main marriage.   :-\
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Looks like siblings James, Charles and George,1842 to 1838 from GRO.
Mother and daughter not with family in 1851, father is a widower.
Emma looks to be on next page of census as a granddaughter.

IF, father is a widow by 1851, the only Kendall deaths I can find registered Market Harborough is the following females

Frances 1845 aged 42

Mary 1844 aged 39

There looks to be a son James born 1842 so either of these could be William's wife, supposition at the moment

William Kendall aged 35, poss listed as Kurdell
Mary 30

George 3
Charles 1

almost next door to Thomas and Elizabeth Main plus 5 offspring

SO, I believe William 's wife here Mary, but the age for the death possibly 1844 is out by quite a few years

Marriage entry shows that William was a widower, Mary was a spinster.  William and Elizabeth Maine were witnesses.  All parties made their mark.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
