No...those Smiths in Yorkshire ring no bells:) However, the info on Samuel is appreciated...and it seems to fit as his older brother William was a shoe and boot manufacturer...as were William's in-laws.

As far as Samuel being a step father...that certainly seems plausible. Boy...she went after young ones:). I need to try to find Emma's parents and have not had much success, as of yet....though using Mary as a pointer may help. Did a quick scan of some areas on the Warwichshire 1841 FreeCEN "Pink Pages" but did not come up with a Mary BEASLEY (55) in any of the areas (Bedworth, Foleshill or Nuneaton) that I know the BRADBURYs and BEASLEYs were.

Thank you again for all the input. OH! and one question Bev, what does "combe abass" mean?
