She certainly does look a possibility - looking at naming patterns of the children and parents

Laurence’s parents - Thomas and Bridget
That Margaret’s - James and Mary

Agewise too.   7 on 1901 Census, Single, Galway born, Age 22 (+/-5 yrs) http://www.rootschat.com/links/01nhu/  some of which can probably be accounted for by Marriages.  Dau of James/Mary.... unless there is a Marriage for her on irishgenealogy!!   ;D

Check their names and any places given. The family of the one we have looked at here use Costelloe too.

This is the family as I can see
Mary Theresa   DoB  Dec 11 1902   Bap  Dec 13 1902   Sponsors: Thomas BREHONY & Honoria DONOHUE
Thomas Joseph   DoB  Mar 27 1904   Bap  Apr 03 1904   Sponsors: James COSTELLO & Mary BURKE
Bridget Ellen   DoB  Nov 20 1905   Bap  Nov 25 1905   Sponsors: Denis KENNEDY & Sarah HACKETT
Margaret Mary   DoB  Dec 01 1906   Bap  Dec 08 1906   Sponsors: John BREHONY & Mary Jane BREHONY
Anne Maria   DoB  Jul 29 1908   Bap  Aug 09 1908   Sponsors: Michael BREHONY & Mary COSTELLO
James   DoB  Oct 10 2010   Bap  Oct 16 2010   Sponsors: Joseph CARR & Ann CARR
Laurence Alphonsius   DoB  Sep 30 1912   Bap  Aug 20 2012   Sponsors: Thomas HOULAHAN & Margaret DWYER
Gertrude Matilda   DoB  Jun 28 2014   Bap  Jul 05 2014   Sponsors: John KILLALEA & Matilda BREHONY
Agnes   DoB  Jan 13 1916   Bap  Jan 23 1916   Sponsors: Thomas BURKE & Bridget HOULAHAN

Noting for the sponsors:

There are two sponsors named James and Mary COSTELLO at different times

There is also a Honoria DONOHUE for the first child
There is a person of this name living in Woodford married to a Stephen DONOHUE whose maiden name was COSTELLO
In 1901 she was aged 42 LINK
She could have been a relative to Margaret - her father's name was also Lawrence
She had at least two sisters
Judith mx2 Pat HYNES Feb 13 1872; and Michael FLYNN Nov 21 1886
Bridget/Ellen (depending on church or civil record) m Feb 06 1894

For some of the other sponsors-

The BREHONYs were neighbours on the 1901 & 1911 censuses are listed as sponsors
Their mother was a Jane GORDON so I don't immediately see a close connection

Joseph and Ann CARR (nee COYE m Nov 29 1888) were neighbours with no children

In 1901 Lawrence's niece was living with him named Mary HACKETT (b Jul 12 1884 Woodford)
She I believe was the daughter of Michael HACKETT and Sarah BURKE
Therefore the sponsor Sarah HACKETT was most likely Lawrence's sister
Kearney & Bourke/ Johns & Fox/ Mannion & Finan/ Donohoe & Curley
Byrne [Carthy], Keeffe/ Germaine, Butler/ McDermott, Giblin/ Lally, Dolan
Toole, Doran; Dowling, Grogan/ Reilly, Burke; Warren, Kidd [Lawless]/ Smith, Scally; Mangan, Rodgers/ Fahy, Calday; Staunton, Miller
Further generations:
Brophy Coleman Eathorn(e) Fahy Fitzpatrick Geraghty Haverty Keane Keogh Nowlan Rowe Walder

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Galway/Leitrim/Leitrim___More/1388730/

There are two nieces with the Costelloes.

Sarah Kennedy mmn Delia Costelloe
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1898/02069/1790422.pdf

Denis Kennedy married Delia Costelloe and Margaret Costelloe was a witness.

There is a Denis Kennedy sponsor to Bridget Ellen in 1905

Hello

Yes that's the correct family thank you. Sorry for being stupid but what does it mean by sponsors? Margaret Mary Burke married a Breheny. Thomas Joseph was my great grandfather. You are correct about the Sarah Hackett also. Mary Burke, sponsor of Tom Joe's baptism is Lawrence's other sister. I don't think she ever married, she was a teacher according to the censuses.

Thank you very much for the info.

Kind regards, Samantha

I've just checked my Kennedy DNA matches and I have quite a lot! Closest is 21cm though, so quite small.
