Another one...

DOUGLAS, WILLIAM        58
GRO Reference: 1847  D Quarter in BIRMINGHAM  Volume 16  Page 225

Bumble pointed this out too. Seems like he is the man I'm looking for. Thank you. :)

I'm not sure what the reference is that you're using.....

There seems to be to many church's involved here..
Edward Douglas baptised at  Carris Lane Independant, Birmingham.
William Douglas and Hannah Bacon, married at St Martin.
Hannah Douglas buried at  St. Mary.
William Douglas  buried at St Paul.

Yeah, I noticed that. Seems they were spoiled for choice over there.

Matthew Douglas:

I can't readily see a first marriage for him, but:

Baptisms - St Philip, Birmingham.  Matthew is a Patten Ring Maker on all occasions, and wife named as Hannah:

Frances - born 20 April 1820, baptised 29 September 1820
Joseph - born 7 May 1824, baptised 9 November 1824
James - born 6 December 1829, baptised 3 August 1830

Burial, St Paul, Chapelry of St Martin:

14 July 1833 - Hannah wife of Matthew Douglas of Duddeston Row.  Aged 37

Marriage - St Paul, Chapelry of St Martin:

20 November 1833 - Matthew Douglas, widower and Mary Leedham.  Both of this parish.

Burial - St Paul

8 September 1852 - Matthew Douglas, aged 58, of High Street.

Perhaps not a lot of help  :-\  However, it does tie in St Paul and St Martin  ;)

Amended to add Hannah's age

1851 Census shows that Matthew Douglas was bc.1794 Burton on Trent, Staffordshire.

Matthew Douglas bp.25/12/1793 Burton on Trent, Staffs, son of Edward and Frances.

plus

William Duglas bp.9/10/1796 Burton on Trent, Staffs, son of Edward and Frances.

(Some of the baptisms for this couple spelt Douglas, some Duglas).

Marriage - St Modwen, Burton on Trent - by Licence (doesn't look as though the Bond and/or Allegation have survived)

24 June 1799 - William Douglas (Patten Ring Maker) and Mary Wright

?Two brothers married sisters ?

I'm having a lot of trouble understanding what you're writing here Bumble. I'm trying to piece it all together, but might need a little explaining. :)
By the looks of it you're doing some great work! Thank you. :)
