Carmarthen: Elizabeth Jones, Quay Street draper pre 1890
« on: Monday 11 March 19 07:43 GMT (UK) »
I am not a relative! My interest is in one of her grandchildren, (Thomas John) Carl Davies, who was killed in France in 1915. I have been in touch with descendants of his sisters already.
Does anyone have any family photos which you would be prepared to scan and send me electronically? I would like one of Elizabeth herself; also her daughter Agnes as a young woman. Obviously one of Carl himself with grandma would be wonderful, although I don't think I'll be that lucky!
I'm also interested in Carl's cousin Marjorie Brockie, daughter of Elizabeth's eldest daughter (also Elizabeth) who died in the flu epidemic of 1919.
I realise this is a long shot but ... just waving a hopeful hand ...

Can't see a death for Marjorie Brockie in 1919 (UK). Where did she die or perhaps my eyes need testing?  ;D

A Margaret Ethel (Peggy) Brockie died of influenza Nov 28th 1918 - obituary on line at Welshnewspapers online.
Cannot spot a Marjorie Brockie in that locale.

Thanks for that  :) I see in a newspaper article that she was known as 'Margie'

If you have access to Ancestry there is a private tree on this family with photos attached
You could try contacting the owner and see if they are willing to share information

Hi there, yes, Margaret is Marjorie -- that is how the family knew her, and yes T.J.C. Davies is Carl. I have been in touch with the compiler of the tree you mention. I have been given access to some family photos, just fishing around to see (as Elizabeth had six daughters) if anyone else can help! Thank you for responding. :)
