Hi, I think I've found a family link for a Robert Hughes, stonemason who appears in the 1871 Bala census in Arenig St aged 38. His birthplace is recorded as Gwyddelwern.
Gwyddelwern 1871 census shows Owen Hughes (father?), 59, stonemason,Tyn y Berth. Gwyddelwern 1851 shows the same family in Bryn Haul but no sign of Robert. Does Robert appear in the 1841 census?
