There’s a birth registration of a Daniel Henry Bugden mmn Wilson in Shoreditch in 1912.  Is he theirs?  If a pregnancy took them by surprise when young and away from home, they might not have got round to a wedding.
They would have been extremely young.  :o

Early 20s.

I can’t easily see what happened to Daniel.

giggsycat, that reminds me of infant school. Getting too many sums wrong/not paying attention in some Junior classes warranted the strap.
I ought to have known because a GF was born at same time as this couple.

I hope it didn't hurt Maiden Stone!

I had the back of my legs smacked with a ruler once in Junior School.

I didn't tell my Mum until many years after, and she was furious with the teacher!

They did marry but in Scotland.

William John Bugden and Esther Louisa Wilson married 1915 St. Nicholas (Aberdeen).

If you register with Scotland People and purchase some credits you can download the marriage certificate.

I posed a multiple choice question in reply #6 and Annette has selected the correct answer - Scotland.

Ruler on back of legs was a punishment when I was 5 or 6. Strap from age 7. A misdemeanour  deserving the strap was getting too many sums wrong - subtracting 1890 from 1912 and putting answer as 12.  ;D
