Mathew Family of St Kew and Llandaff, Glamorgan

I am researching the Mathew family of Penetenny, St Kew who according to sources on the internet are descended from the Earls of Llandaff, Glamorganshire but none of these sources say what this link is.  Can anyone help!

Are these sources reliable or just mentioned in online trees

There is a mention on discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk with 'The Mathew family is descended from John Mathew of St Kew and the Mathew family of Llandaff', also biography.wales.  There are probably just a few generations between the St Kew and Llandaff Mathews.  I am hoping someone has made this leap and can help!

'A Genealogical and Heraldic History of the Landed Gentry of Great Britain & Ireland, Volume 2' Page 902 seems to give the line. It can be read on line.
