So now you have been given his marriage - you can send for a copy of his marriage cert to see whether his father was James - occ shipwright

The marriage is online.  William was a widower (occ Hairdresser). His father was James Young occ Ship Carpenter.

Have you looked on the Forest of Dean site or on Family Search?
