Jane/Joane Sanbroke
« on: Monday 18 March 19 08:23 GMT (UK) »
Hi!
Can anyone help with any of the following?!

I have a John Sanbroke baptised 1st September 1580, All Saints, Northamptonshire, buried 19th December 1623, All Saints, son of a Thomas Sanbrooke.

I have found two marriages for John both to the same lady:

John Sanbroke married Anne Hopkins  on 2nd May 1610, All Saints Northamptonshire and also John Sandbroke to Ann Hopkines on 3rd May 1610 at Holcot Northamptonshire?

There is a baptism of an Ann Sanbroke on 27th January 1610 at Holcot daughter of John and Ann Sanbroke.

Other children of John Sanbroke and Ann Hopkins are:

Katherine Sanbroke baptised 15th February 1611 All Saints

John Sanbroke baptised 22nd January 1612 All Saints

Frances Sanbroke baptised 16th July 1615 All Saints

Francis Sanbroke baptised 17th January 1617 All Saints

Ann Sanbroke wife of John was buried 6th July 1622 All Saints and their daughter Ann was buried 25th June 1617 All Saints.

I am trying to make a connection to a Joane/Jane Sanbroke who married John Denton on 11th October 1636 at Hardingstone.

They had issue:

Thomas Denton baptised 21st December 1637 Hardingstone
John Denton baptised 18th August 1639 Hardingstone
William Denton baptised 25th March 1641 Hardingstone
Ann Denton baptised 9th July 1643 Hardingstone
Francis Denton baptised 8th December 1644 Hardingstone

Cannot find a baptism for a Jane or Joane Sanbroke anywhere and i dont think the name apart from hers is in any records for Hardingstone?

Any help much appreciated!! :)

Hi,

I went and had a look at the 1636 marriage, and I thought the name might be Seabroke, rather than Sanbroke?

Tried searching for S*br*k* on Ancestry, and found not only your Sanbrokes but also also some Seabrokes, who were living in Milton Malsor, which is close to Hardingstone.

A Thomas and Frances Sebroke were having children in Milton Malsor 1614 - 1620. No sign of a Jane / Joan, but Thomas Seabroke left a Will, so you could check whether there was a Jane. They had Henry (1614), Elizabeth (1615), Prudence (1618, indexed as Sebcooks), Ann (1619, indexed as Sebcooke), Robert (1620, indexed as Sobcooks). Jane could have been an older child baptised somewhere else.

Hi! Many thanks for the information. Found children born before at Ivinghoe, Buckinghamshire one of which was baptised Johanna in 1608 so i think this could be her?
If i am on the correct will for her father Thomas Sebroke he mentions his sisters and wife and son Francis - no other children mentioned.
Thanks you again for your help - very much appreciated! :D
