Decipher first name of Witness?
« on: Monday 18 March 19 15:50 GMT (UK) »
Hello

Can anyone tell me what the first name is of the first witness to this marriage?  [somebody] Taylor.

Might be helpful in pinning down the correct Taylor family in Bethnal Green for the bride as I assume it'll be a relative....

Crumbs I can see why you asked  ???  Hard to even have a stab at it isn't it  :-\

Don't suppose it's been transcribed anywhere to give us a clue.

Yes, I wondered that too, Rosie, but it's a bit long at the front if you know what I mean!

Haven't seen it transcribed anywhere sadly, Millipede.
I may have to look at all the possible Taylor families (at least I have father Thomas, a shoemaker) to see if there's a possible match....

I keep looking at it and seeing it as ALIGNED Taylor.

But it won't be that.... ;)

Yay!  Thank you very much - I've just been wandering round the censuses but didn't see that one....

I think he was more comfortable with French Polishing than with a new pen, and I know what it's like when you suddenly have to write neatly on an official document with pen and ink.....
