Could Wilfred have gone to Canada earlier than 1916?

There is a Wilfred Matthews age 19 going to Canada in 1912 on the "Montrose"

If he was the father of Ruth born 1915 that would give him time to have met someone.

Oh just noticed on the 1921 census it gives year of immigration 1900 for Wilfred and his parents, that doesn't compute does it  :-\

Hi,

You can have a look at James' death in 1934 on Family Search, Maria gives her address as
430 Main St., Weston, Ontario which is the same address Wilfred gives on his marriage to Lottie.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9Q97-Y3SJ-K3D?i=641&cc=1307826

His burial information at Prospect Cemetery, Toronto, he is named as James C., veteran
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-DRY3-3VJ?i=171&cc=1627831

The birth year is out according to his death record, but I think this may be James C.'s gravestone,

Unfortunately Ruth's birth record isn't available, Ontario births are privacy protected after 1913.

Hi,

And again, 430 Main St. Weston  ;D

Wilfred served with the Canadian Forces in WW1, b. Aug. 20, 1893, Acrinton, Lancs., next of
kin Maria Ann Matthews, 68 Buttesland St. Hoxton, N. London (she has numerous addresses
within the file). There are 106 pages, on page 27 it gives his date of death March 7, 1972,
place "not stated". The file is very slow to load.

So if Maria was born 1859 and Ruth 1915 she can't have been her mother, well unlikely at 56 don't you think?
