I would be very grateful if some kind person could find a John Mollard in the parish of Wilmslow on the 1851 census he was born around 1811 and his wife's name was Martha born, Wilmslow 1826. I know they had a son,John born 1849.

Hi
     Welcome to Rootschat  :)

I have looked at the 1851 census but they are not in the Wilmslow index, the 1861 census seems to show that the first two children (1849 and 1851) were born Stockport, the http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk/  says they were born Cheadle.

I cannot find them in either area, it is possible you may get an address from one of the childrens birth certificates.

If you want the 1861 details please ask.

Hi Peter ,
Thanks very much for trying. I think I should have told you that I found the family under the name of Wollard on the 1861 census but the name is Mollard. I have the marriage certificate of Phoebe, one of their daughters,  and also Sarah another daughter,I haven't yet applied for birth certificates because I'm struggling to find them. I would like to see what you found, just in case I'm wrong.
 Thanks again,
Pat.

Hi Pat
It seems you have been using the 1837 online census, its transciptions sometimes are not the best. This is the 1861 census I found on my copy.

RG9-2588-F159  Hollins Lane Pownall Fee Cheshire

John Mollard head 50 ag lab born Wilmslow
Martha          wife 34                        ~
John              son 12 cotton carder Stockport
Sarah           daug 9 half time scholar/cott winder Stockport
Edward         son 6 Wilmslow
Martha         daug 3 ~
Jane               ~     1 ~
Mary               ~    1 month Wilmslow

I will keep an eye open them in the 1851, and if you do get a birth certificate for on of the children born in Stockport/Cheadle then please let us know the address on it.

regards

peterbennett

Peter,
Thanks for taking so much trouble, it's very much appreciated.

I'm going to order a birth certificate and will be in touch again when it arrives.
