George 'Honey Boy' Evans

Researching George Evans known as Honey Boy; can you please help?

George Evans was born 1870 in Pontlottyn, Wales, UK.  About 1877 the family emigrated to America and were residing in Streator, La Salle, Illinois on the 1880 census.   
John Evans      Self   48   coal miner   Wales
Elisabeth Evans   Wife   30   keeping house   Wales
George Evans   Son   11   attending school   Wales
Eden Evans   Son   09   attending school   Wales
Charlie Evans   Son   03   Illinois, United States

When did the family arrive, name of ship, etc.  Did George Evans marry? are there family living today?  these are details I would appreciate help with.

Mildred Evans 39 born Illinois. Married 18 years. Had 1 child.
Gladys Evans   14 born New York.

George was married to Mildred Doerk.
They had a daughter Gladys born in 1896.
Mildred died in 1955.

When did the family arrive, name of ship, etc.  these are details I would appreciate help with.


This appears to be the passenger ship record for the family.  It appears they came through Baltimore on the "Austrian", arriving 14 Feb. 1876.

The father John Evans is listed as a coal miner with a wife Elizth. The children are George & Even(Eden 1880 census) of the right  age. There is also a 7 month old daughter Emilie. She must have died before the 1880 census.
