Nellie or nelly
« on: Sunday 31 March 19 12:14 BST (UK) »
Hi all this maybe a hard one to look into i am looking in a aboriginal native woman named Nellie or Nelly her birth is unknown and her death was before 1939
She associated with the country towns in between kellerberrin, southern cross to Coolgardie and kalgoorlie
She had a defacto marriage to jim or james Champion from the Gascoyne area of western Australia.
That is what i know of her so far.
Thanks.

Southern Cross burial records have these two named CHAMPION.

Sylvia CHAMPION, 20 April 1942. Stillborn infant. Was Nellie her mother?
And
J. CHAMPION, 6 April 1946.
(Jim - Reg. Yilgarn 7 - 1946)

Hi Rhonda
Sylvia was the child of Jack and Topsy Champion .
Jim had 2 children Jack and Edward .
Jim also had a relationship with a white woman possibly the mother of jack and Edward i was following a lead that catherine wolfe might have been the mother because of her disloyalty in her marriage.
