What Church did she belong to? There are a lot of un-indexed South African records on familysearch.org which is by far the best place to go to for South African Records.
Unfortunately Catholic records are thin on the ground but there are plenty of Anglican Records (partially indexed)

Had checked on FamilySearch some time ago but will check again thanks, always a chance I missed something.  Am now thinking they may have been an Army couple following a suggestion about her birth.

Not sure of her religion but he appears to have been RC
