This Emma has a middle name but birth year is close - You may want to investigate to see if it leads anywhere

Looking at number of years given a marriage should be around 1856 so possibly children born before Emma, if she's her mother

Worth remembering also that Emma Eade/King said she married 27 years (c1884) but no marriage

I think perhaps trying to find visitor Emma King bn c 1836on the 1901 census first
(I've had a quick look but not found a match bn St James, it's a shame there's no occupation
if she can be found there it might lead a trail to 1871 census with them both on

Thank you Ladyhawk. Just wondering - if I get the birth certificate of, say the first child - William 1882 - it might give the place of his birth, perhaps street name. If William was born whilst Willie was still with wife Laura and therefore Emma was still at home with parents, that might give me Emma's family details on 1881 census.

What do you think? EDIT - just realised Willie and Emma's William was born BEFORE Willie and Laura's daughter Rose !!

Actually the William King birth reg we have may be for a different, unrelated child.

William King born 17 March 1882 was baptised at St Mary, Marylebone on 28 March 1882.

Mother: Mary Ann, abode workhouse.

Fair point. Also that GRO record for William Kig in 1982 doesn't fit in with his expected birth from the 1911 and 1891 census (he is not with the family 1901 and can't find him anywhere else at the moment)

If the very precise age of 32 yrs 8 days given by William King/Eade on his Army examination (14 April 1916) is correct then his birthdate should be 6 April 1884.
