If the very precise age of 32 yrs 8 days given by William King/Eade on his Army examination (14 April 1916) is correct then his birthdate should be 6 April 1884.

Thank you. Interesting - Is there anything else of interest on that record? Guessing that is something else I could get hold of with A* subscription?

Well, he suffered from deformed feet, rheumatic pains in his feet and legs since a bout of measles in childhood, and neurofibromatosis.

Emma Eade was his next of kin, as has already been posted upthread.

Thank you again for all this. I guess now we have some possibilities I need a way of proving if they are the right ones. Not sure I have enough detail to do that? Does there come a point when we just have to record it as a possibility and leave it at that?

If the very precise age of 32 yrs 8 days given by William King/Eade on his Army examination (14 April 1916) is correct then his birthdate should be 6 April 1884.

Tweaking the free 1939 Register index, I think William Eade is in the Hendon area and gives his birthdate as 6 April 1885.  If at least the 6 April bit is right (whether 1884 or 1885) then that could be corroborated with any birth certificate.

In turn, with luck, the birth certificate may give address (or other) details which link his mother Emma King to one of the families identified in the censuses.

Hope so too please let us know

When I was searching for the birth entry I only went by the date given from Army records as posted by avm228  6th April 1884 (hence looking in June Qtr. 1884)

avm228 also mentions possible birth 6th April 1885 for a William Eade in Hendon

There is this entry on GRO indexes in Jun qtr.  :-\
