David Kennedy McBlain/BLANE who's the mother .father + namesake?

My mistake the marriage for David and Agnes was 1841 not 1851

Birth for Hugh Kennedy 11/2/1849 Old Cumnock

That makes more sense as they also had a son John before the 1851 census

David Kennedy b1806 would have only been 22 when he had child with unmarried Euphemia Blain in 1829

She named William Galloway as father but
Named the child after David Kennedy

I wonder why they didn't marry .maybe she hedged her bets as didn't know which man was father .

 DNA has linked to David Kennedy.s grandparents John Kennedy and Jean McCrea....it is my smallest DNA match but totally fits with being 8th half cousins

How exciting ..I've contacted the person who manages the tree .he.s done lots of research

Lovely picture to have ..changed days now when a photographer says smile .Notice in older photos they didn't smile much

They had to keep still for a long time so a smile would have been a grimace .!

Relatives say they only had posh dresses like that because they had dressmakers in the family

They don't look very comfy either

Must have been quite hot with their black socks/stockings on they do look smart though

 Think we've answered the original question and I do believe the line goes back to Patrick McBLAIN 1680 and Mary KENNEDY
