Fenwick family lookup
« on: Monday 15 April 19 19:17 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

I've been trying to find the following people in the 1911 census without fail and was hoping someone may be able to help find them. The family are

Joseph Rushforth Fenwick, 1900, Sunderland.
Lydia Fenwick, 1892, Sunderland
Margaret Jane Fenwick, 1866, North Shields.

I'm not sure if they are living in Willington Quay or North Shields as I know Lydia married there in 1912, and they all died in that region.

Thanks in advance

Browny

Are we looking for surname Wilkinson, as in your subject line, or Fenwick?

edit: subject line now corrected!

Sorry Fenwick is the name. Wilkinson is Margaret Jane's maiden name.

1911 lookup requests are not allowed by Rootschat

Have you tried using Family Search which has census transcriptions including 1911?

Was Margaret widowed before 1911?  Did she re-marry and if so - have you tried looking under her new married name?  There is a Margaret Jane Fenwick marriage in 1903 on freebmd

Quote
Lydia Fenwick, 1892, Sunderland

Freebmd shows 1894 and 1901 shows she was 7yrs old

Sorry I didn't realise that the 1911 census was not allowed. She didn't remarry as I have found her husband in Tynemouth still listed as married and one of their children listed as a visitor with relatives. It was just those 3 individuals I've been unable to trace.

Regards

Try checking with other relatives for the other children. They may have been mistakenly recorded with the surname of the head of the household. Check any living grandparents, aunts and uncles to see if they might be there. You should also consider whether Margaret Jane may have set up house with another man and the other two children could be with her in his household.
