Ok thanks. Is there any way of finding out about the witnesses to the wedding without ordering a certificate?

You can search 1939 register but need a subscription to view records

I did a free search with name and advanced option adding the above dob - no match so tried
month & year only - there's this entry

Frank   King   1928
Midhurst R.D.   Sussex

using surname only & location Midhurst there doesn't appear to be an Edward or Daisy  ???

I have managed to research Daisy Keets family thoroughly.

She was from a traveller family and i believe that the King family may be travellers too which I guess makes it difficult to trace as they move around a lot.

If anyone can help me get further back in the King family I would really appreciate it.

Best to start with the marriage to Daisy.
That's the best way to confirm his father without guessing.
There might be a helpful witness or two on there as well if you're lucky.

In the meantime have you looked for Edward and Daisy on the 1939 register?

That would at least give an accurate date of birth for him.

Do you have a date of birth for Daisy King nee Keet from her birth cert. or death entry?

Daisy was born about 1905 in Poole, Dorset. I do not have a death date for her as yet and I can't find either of them on the 1939 register

You say have researched Daisy's family thoroughly, was she always known as Daisy or did she have another pet name at all?

I haven't seen her as different name. Is there a common pet name for Daisy?
