Great-grandparents John Yeoman and Mary Ann Frazer - Dungannon
« on: Wednesday 24 April 19 18:31 BST (UK) »
I am looking for any information regarding family members of John Yeoman and Mary Ann Frazer who married in Dungannon in 1872.  They had 3 children, Anna Jane, John Alexander, and Marie Charlotte in Dungannon before leaving for America about 1882 and settling in Portland, Oregon, USA.  John Alexander became Richard John Yeoman in childhood.

I have DNA tested with 3 sites and have numerous matches from Scotland and Northern Ireland, but only one Yeoman match and no Frazer matches.  The most common surnames in the ancestry of my closer matches are Hazelton and McKeldin.  I have at least a dozen matches in Australia with ancestry in Northern Ireland.

Any information at all or clues or suggestions will be so very much appreciated.  Thanks!

I notice one of the witnesses on the 1872 marriage is called Hazleton.

Are you sure Marie Charlotte was born in Dungannon as her birth doesn’t seem to be recorded there, only the births of John Alexander and Annie.

Thanks for the links.  I was able to find new information and see actual images for the first time.  Very exciting! Yes, Charlotte was born in Dungannon.  The record is indexed as Charlotte Yoeman.  I was very excited to see Edward Hazelton as a witness on John and Mary Ann's marriage record.  He appears to be a descendant of the Hazelton lines I am connected to via DNA matches.  The marriage record indicates John Yeoman's father was John, a farmer.  I did find a John Yeoman and a Richard Yeoman in Dungannon in 1834 Valuation Office books, but nothing else.  Mary Ann Frazer's father was Alexander.  I did find one Alexander Frazer in Griffith's and a death record for an Alexander in 1872.  He may have been married to Ann Jane, who died in 1886.  Could she had ben a Hazelton?  Could John Yeoman the Elder have been married to a Hazelton?  Haven't found anything yet, but will keep looking.  Thanks for your interest in my brick wall!

Search is relatively easy, e.g to look for Death Certs on https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp

e.g.   Alexander in 1872.    Ann Jane, who died in 1886 etc

and check to see who registered them etc

This Search should get deaths, if registered
